Introduction

Our Team

The Team of Wombles Crèche (Tallaght Crèche & Montessori)

All of our team has a recognized childcare qualification and experience in caring for children. Part of our team is made up of relief staff to cover holidays etc.

We also have a full time supervisor on board and we attract and retain the very best staff available to us.

This dedication is a testament to the family/staff friendly atmosphere in our crèche where everyone is encouraged to play an active role in the running of The Wombles.

Ethos

Happy children, happy parents and happy caring staff. Positive, open interaction and communication.

Aims

The Wombles (Tallaght Crèche & Montessori) is committed to the best interest of the children, respecting their rights and needs.

Objectives

Outdoor play area at The Wombles

We aim to provide a safe, secure, fun and stimulating environment, which embraces all children and values their race, language, gender, age, disability, culture, class and religion.

Síolta and Aistear

Girl Playing with Sand

Siolta and Aistear are the National Frameworks for Early Learning which support services for children aged from birth to 6 years. Detailed information can be found at www.siolta.ie and www.ncca.ie/earlychildhoodframework.

At The Wombles we primarily use the Aistear framework, the aim of which is to help every child to grow and develop as a competent and confident learner.

Ultimately, according to Aistear, early childhood care and education must support a child's sense of: Well-being, identity and belonging, exploring and thinking and communication.

Arts and Crafts at Wombles Crèche

These are the 4 main goals of Aistear and it proposes that they are achieved through the contexts of play and supported by caring, learning relationships with adults and peers. In this way it makes very strong links between care and education in the early years and firmly establishes the child's right to a safe, stimulating, nurturing and play-based environment. The Wombles is delighted to embrace this learning framework.
